Squidoo Is Getting Tougher

Today I must confess I am feeling a little paranoid and maybe a touch hysterical. People who know me will be very surprised at this because usually I am a cool and laid back type of person.
Part of the reason for all this is because I was wrong about Squidoo – totally wrong and it is hard for me to admit I was wrong.
As most people will probably know, Squidoo has changed their terms and conditions and they are now banning certain topics, which I talked about in my previous post entitled Whats Going On At Squidoo?.
You can read the Squidoo Policy Update here.
Although they talked about Weight Loss Pills as one of their banned topics, I never believed they would ban all weight loss topics.
I only have (or had?) two lenses relating to weight loss and although I did copy my content just in case they did run into trouble, when they recently got locked it came as a bit of a blow (to my ego). I suppose mainly sentimental reasons, one of the locked lenses was the very first lens I made at Squidoo and I was very proud of it and put a lot of time and effort into making it.
But as an affiliate marketer I know that I must learn from my mistakes, keep creating good content and move on.
For anyone else who has been unfortunate enough to have their lens locked and has not yet copied their content, you can still do this. Just go into edit and you will find that your content is still there. You can either just copy it and paste it into a text editor or you can chose to export it. You will find more details on how to save your lenses here.
Of course that is the problem of putting your own content on other people’s sites, you do not have control over it and Squidoo are perfectly entitled to decide what should or should not appear on their site.
I still love Squidoo and will continue to make lenses as I think they are a fun thing to do. But I will be more selective in the topics I choose to write about.
So whats with the paranoid hysteria?
Well now whenever anyone finds any of the links to my weight loss lenses, instead of seeing my lens they will see a page that shouts:
It doesn’t make me look good does it? It doesn’t exactly inspire confidence in me.
So am I over reacting and being paranoid? Give me your opinion.
