EzineArticles – Do You Love Them or Hate Them?

The other day over at the Wealthy Affiliate Forum there were some discussions going on about EzineArticles.com. Someone was very upset because they had just had their article rejected.

EzineArticles is a great article directory to use in your affiliate marketing campaigns because they are a high authority site and can help your articles to rank high in the search engine listings. They are rather strict though and do not allow affiliate links.

When people have their articles rejected they often, understandably get very upset. But unfortunately some people also take it personally and get very offended.

I remember when I wrote my very first article and submitted it to EzineArticles. It was a very big deal for me and I waited for days with baited breath for it to be accepted (or heaven forbid, rejected). Then the day finally arrived when I received that email from EzineArticles saying :

“Your article, – has been accepted and added to the EzineArticles.com directory:
You’ve also earned Expert Author status:
Your article will be on our high-traffic home page later today:
You are welcome to add one of these special buttons on your
website to show that your articles have been featured on
EzineArticles.com:”

OMG I was sooo happy and excited and when I checked google and there was my article at number one in the results – I was so proud – me an expert author!

I look back and laugh at myself now, but at the time it was a big deal to me and also a landmark in my affiliate marketing career. So when people get upset over their articles being rejected and take it personally, I do understand how upset they must feel. Since that time I have had articles rejected too.

But the thing with EzineArticles is that when you have an article rejected they do tell you why and try and help you. If you just check your article, read their guidelines, make a few alterations, often you will find you article is then accepted. If you are not sure why it has been rejected, you can send them an email to try and get things resolved.

At the end of the day it is their article directory. they make the rules and we have to abide by them if we want our articles published there.

EzineArticles do want our articles, they have a newsletter you can sign up for where they give lots of tips and advice on article writing. Plus they have an Blog where at the moment they are doing a series of videos on The Top 10 Reasons for Article Rejection – well worth checking out.
