I am sure you know about Google (unless you have been living under a rock) and know that it’s the number one search engine, but do you realise all the other things that google has to offer?
For example, Google Mail is an email service and anyone can sign up for free. You can have multiple account and it has lots of storage space too. If you don’t already have one, you can sign up for a Google Account here and create your Google email account.
Once you have a Google Account you will have access to many of the other services Google has to offer. For example Google Analytics, Webmaster Tools, Picasa Web Albums, Blogger, Google Documents and Google Alerts to name but a few. You can check the rest out for yourself. But the one I want to talk to you about today is Google Reader.
Google Reader is a very handy tool . For example if there are any blogs that you follow, you can put the feed into Google Reader and have them all in one place. This will save you lots of time because by having them all in the same place you will no longer have to go to different web pages to look at the blogs that you find interesting. You can also have Google news feeds put straight into your Google Reader. In fact any webpage that is of interest to you that has an RSS feed can be put into Google Reader. This will save you so much time.
It is also very handy if you are an affiliate marketer. If you are like me and write lots of articles and blog posts it is easy to run out of ideas and get writers block. This is especially true if you are working in a new niche and don’t yet know a lot about that particular market. If you have Google Reader set up then you will have lots of interesting articles and blog posts coming in through your feed to give you ideas and keep you up to date in your market.
Take a look at these videos by Ed Dale. They are from the 30 Day Challenge Preseason Training. In the first video Ed shows how to set up Google Reader. In the second video he shows how to set up feeds and how to store them in folders so you can keep things nicely organised. If you are lucky enough to have an iPhone he explains in this video how to set up Google Reader in your iPhone. How cool is that!
